The Role: This role is pivotal in ensuring data solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with both local and enterprise-wide architectural strategies, particularly in cloud migration. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Group Architects, the Head of Data & Analytics, and technology leads to craft a data architecture roadmap that supports new technology platforms, advanced analytics, and AI initiatives. You will guide cross-functional teams, ensure data quality, and implement effective data management tools and practices. Additionally, you will communicate complex technical information to a broad range of stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor. Your leadership will extend to coaching a team of engineers and building strategic relationships to integrate new technologies and policies effectively. This role is designed for a high-impact leader keen to play a key role in influencing data-driven strategies and enhancing technological capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data architecture solutions. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive data architecture roadmap. Guide cross-functional teams in implementing data management tools and practices. Ensure the scalability and sustainability of data solutions. Communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders. Coach and mentor a team of engineers. Build strategic relationships to integrate new technologies effectively. Essential Skills and Expertise: Extensive knowledge of data & analytics with demonstrable experience in big data, analytics, and data engineering platforms. Broad understanding of current and evolving IT technologies, architectures, and delivery models. Deep understanding of the data landscape and evolving trends. Effective communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with multi-database environment development. Proficiency in developing data models for reporting and data warehousing. Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Advanced ETL tool or solution development skills. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Spark. Familiarity with scheduling tools like Airflow or Oozie. 1+ years experience with Hadoop. 1+ years experience with Python. Experience using APIs to consume data. Proven people management experience, including performance management, mentoring, and coaching. Background in retail banking or financial services.
