Role Purpose:To fulfil the company's main data protection services, ensuring robust compliance with the UK GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations, and to provide expert guidance to schools in achieving data protection compliance.Salary Band:£36k - £44k per annumKey Responsibilities:Fulfil the company's main data protection services, including the Data Protection Portal.Provide expert guidance to schools in demonstrating an enhanced level of data protection compliance to the Information Commissioner’s Office.Oversee and enhance the online recording and reporting system for all relevant data protection information including changes to legislation.Contribute expert articles to the company's newsletters and blog on advanced data protection topics.Fulfil the tasks of the Data Protection Officer as laid out in Article 39 of the UK GDPR (or equivalent roles/responsibilities in line with changes to legislation).Conduct comprehensive audits to assess data protection practices in schools and provide expert recommendations for improvements.Travel within the UK to provide services onsite for schools as well as delivery remotely.Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest changes in data protection regulations.Collaborate with various departments and schools to ensure smooth operations and compliance.Person Specification:Essential:Either:Advanced knowledge of the education sector. This role may suit an experienced school business manager or school / academy trust senior leader.Or:Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer or in a similar role.In depth knowledge of the UK GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.As well as:Proficient in core business systems including Microsoft Office365 and other relevant platforms.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Willingness to train and participate in continuous professional development.Robust time-management and organisational skills.Ability to lead and mentor a team.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability and willingness to work remotely and travel to visit clients.Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.Strong attention to detail.Driving licence and own transport.Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote working environment.Desirable:Advanced knowledge of the education sector.Formal qualifications in data protection such as the CIPP/E or equivalent.Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer or in a similar role.In depth knowledge of the UK GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.Familiarity with SchoolPro TLC's services and ethos.Experience in conducting comprehensive data protection audits of schools and/or Multi Academy Trusts.Job Closes:Friday 5th July 2024; 12:00hrs BSTAbout SchoolPro TLC:SchoolPro TLC is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and school staff both locally and nationally.
