A leading UK company is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team and play a pivotal role in using data to drive smarter decision-making across their supply chain.Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum + company benefitsAbout the Role: In this newly created role, you will work closely with the Analytics Manager to analyse and interpret large datasets from both internal and external sources. Using advanced tools such as AI, machine learning, and statistical methods, you will help deliver valuable insights and drive improvements across the supply chain. Your work will include creating and maintaining weekly KPI dashboards, providing actionable insights, and automating processes to increase efficiency. You will be central to ensuring the company leverages its data to gain a competitive edge and make informed, data-led decisions.Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and utilise data to achieve them.Analyse data from various sources to solve critical supply chain challenges.Support the ingestion and testing of new data sources and help create supply chain measures for the business.Use machine learning and statistical techniques to develop solutions that enable proactive decision-making.Produce clear dashboards and reports that offer insight into supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders.Promote self-service data capabilities, automating processes to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.Stay up-to-date with the latest data science technologies and methods. Qualifications: A degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field (an advanced degree is preferred).Required Skills:Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst.Strong background in data mining, wrangling, and open-source big-data technologies (e.g. Microsoft Azure).Experience with data warehouses and data lake structures / visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau.Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python (PySpark), R, and Scala is advantageous.Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, statistical tests, distributions, and regression analysis.Knowledge of supply chain and merchandise planning processes would be a plus.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
