Job Title: Days Engineering Maintenance Team Manager

This is a Days only Monday - Thursday Days Role

Job Package £50 – 53k Band plu package, excellent pension

Job Location: Cheshire West 

Client : Global FMCG multi-site manufacturer

Time-sensitive manufacturing and packaging environment

This days-based role will suit a developing  maintenance manager or Lead Engineer with experience of managing change and systems  as well as an aspiring Maintenance Shift Team Leader ready for a bigger challenign role

This role will lead all frontline engineering maintenance activities in your area, including GMP Manufacturing and fill and pack, accountable for ensuring the efficient production of a variety of branded food consumable products

Key Responsibilities – Days Engineering Maintenance Team Manager


  • Motivation of engineering team through effective leadership and coaching and development of a small team of engineers 
  • Control of contractors & maintenance suppliers through effective performance reviews
  • Support Maintenance Excellence roadmap implementation plan for site
  • Adherence to planned maintenance schedules through effective resource planning
  • Undertake analysis of CMMS data to assist forward planning, opportunity for equipment improvement
  • Review maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness
  • Drive and support Reliability Centred Maintenance/FMECA activities
  • You will devise and ensure a robust and responsive maintenance strategy, and develop contingencies which permit the whole sites working regime to be supported fully by all areas of engineering
  • You will manage frontline craft engineers, multi-skilled, as well as contractors on Planned maintenance and shut down activities
  • You will create, implement, and manage both maintenance and PPM plans for your area of the factory, utilising various operational methodologies such as supplier optimisation, minimal inventories, and asset management techniques
  • Monitor operational efficiency of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under-performance or opportunity and implement plans to deliver improvement
  • Monitor plant reliability and capability to identify areas of issue or opportunity and implement plans to deliver improvement

Your key deliverables are:

•Machine availability / downtime

•Machine efficiency

•Changeover & run-up performance.

•Achievement of Preventative Maintenance Plan – leading your shift technicians and engineers

Requirements - Days Engineering Maintenance Team Manager


  • Demonstrating experience ideally within an FMCG / Pharmaceutical / Process engineering environment in an engineering maintenance leadership role
  • You will have finely developed interpersonal and communication skills and the natural ability to inspire and lead large teams
  • A proven track record of meeting agreed performance targets and reporting skills are also crucial to the success of this role
  • You will also identify improvement opportunities and monitor individual and team performance
  • You will display effective organisational skills and demonstrate a forward-thinking, career ambitious and enthusiastic approach
