Our Client has a current opportunity for a Deckhand or Marine Crew to work alongside their highly experienced team in Invergordon.

Reporting to the Marine Crew Manager, the successful candidate will work as a member of the marine crew to optimise the pilotage service and support the delivery of marine crew objectives.

Key responsibilities:
  • To man, operate and assist maintenance of all marine crafts
  • Capable of returning the marine craft to safe haven
  • Mooring - to tie up, provide services and let go vessels.
  • To maintain the premises, facilities and equipment (including but not limited to general ground maintenance, painting, litter picking and any other general maintenance duties as required.
  • General marine duties (including but not limited to debris recovery, oil spill response and general launch maintenance)
  • To work on a rota system to meet the needs of the business (the marine crew currently work on a 4-week rotation)
  • Supporting training & development of crew members
  • To plan and execute maintenance for craft, equipment, and facilities and to complete marine craft checks
  • Other duties as required from time to time in order to meet the needs of the business

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in similar role would be beneficial
  • RYA Advanced Powerboat Certificate (desirable); candidates with less qualifications may be considered
  • First Aid certificate or working towards (desirable)
  • Offshore Sea Survival (desirable)
  • Experience working in marine operational environment is essential
  • Flexible approach to work - previous experience working on-call/ out of hours would be beneficial

The position will be on a contract basis with the potential of becoming permanent employment for the right candidate.
