We are looking for an experienced Depot Assurance Manager . This will besomeone who thrives on challenge and working in a constantly changing and evolving environment.

The main purpose of this role will be to manage the Depot Assurance Team as part of the wider Risk and Assurance department to provide assurance and strategic direction.This will include scoping and delivering the depot assurance plan as agreed by the Audit & Risk Committee by coordinating the team of Depot Assurance Auditors to ensure that all audits are delivered effectively and within budget.
You will be overseeing the quality of the work performed by the Depot Assurance Team and providing training, where required, to upskill the team.
This role will also include delivery of depot audits to support the delivery of the depot assurance plan, from time to time, including:
Asset existence and management of assets,
Conformity with business processes in line with company procedures,
Health & Safety, Environmental and Information Security compliance,
Review of training records, and
Review of effective use of depot management systems.
You will be responsible for provide assurance for accreditations to ISO and OHSAS standards and in line with the principles of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA).
You will lead on the support and facilitation of the Speedy depot assurance process including the writing and review of key policies, procedures, and templates in collaboration with the wider Risk & Assurance team using forward-thinking data analysis to improve this process, where relevant.
You will oversee the management of depot assurance actions including regular review, providing support to management and reporting.
You will support the timely and accurate reporting to the Head of Risk and Assurance for onward reporting to the Executive Team, Board and Audit & Risk Committee.
You will also be required to attendance at key senior management meetings to offer advice and insight on arising risks in the business, existing governance processes and business improvement.
What you will need:
Previous experience of either managing a depot (or similar) or auditing multiple locations.This may include management of safety procedures, handling of equipment, asset inspection, use of IT systems and related processes, and adhering to company policies.
Experience of managing a team of individuals with sound people management skills and the personality to motivate and inspire with proven leadership skills.
A good general understanding and knowledge of hire equipment or similar experience, preferred.
Excellent practiced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel essential and knowledge of the use of a depot management system, or similar. Experience of the management of large volumes of data and data management tools, preferred.
Willingness to travel across the UK to depot locations to perform audits.
IOSH accreditation in Health and Safety and LQRA or equivalent audit training, preferred, and otherwise enthusiastic about working towards relevant qualifications as the role requires.
Can identify and articulate the key risks and controls of a business demonstrating excellent communication skills. Has good knowledge of process control including application of policies and procedures.
Shows intelligence and pragmatism in developing commercially viable solutions. Adaptable to change showing strong pragmaticism in an ever-evolving business.
Can build effective working relationships with senior management demonstrating confidence.
Writes accurate, well-presented reports for senior management.
Ability to escalate key actions and risks to senior management and the Head of Risk & Assurance, where relevant.
Demonstrates tenacity in the face of challenge.
Strong team player with the vision to work together to deliver the best outcomes for the team.
Good planning and organising skills essential, able to demonstrate ability to work to strict deadlines to produce reports and results.
