We operate seven apartment-based care homes located in Castleford, Garforth, Snaith, Bradford, Roundhay, Pudsey and Rastrick. Each of our homes provides supportive accommodation for 6-9 individuals within their own homely flat-based settings. we are seeking experienced, dedicated, and motivated individuals to join our team. The services are yet to be inspected by CQC, so we’re looking for someone with a proven track record in management and achieving great outcomes. You’ll be supported every step of the way by a brilliant team.

Role Overview

The Deputy Manager will be part of the Home’s Management Team, leading service management, staff development, and resident support. They will assist the Registered Manager in training staff, ensuring high-quality care, and overseeing operations in the Manager’s absence. Responsibilities include assessing and implementing support plans, maintaining regulatory standards, and ensuring the home runs successfully. Passion for supporting adults with diverse needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and mental health, is essential.

Your Responsibilities


  • To be responsible for the day to day running of the service, delegating roles and responsibilities, advising, guiding and leading the staff team.
  • To provide regular supervision to the staff, reporting into you. Through supervision ensure that the team obtain and sustain the skills necessary to meet the needs of the individuals residing in the service.
  • To act as a Shift Team Leader and to provide coaching and guiding to the Support Staff.
  • To contribute to the training of support and other staff, acting as a role model at all times.
  • To actively participate in personal and professional development opportunities, attending necessary mandatory training as identified.
  • To ensure that he/she continually seeks to improve his/her performance, skills and knowledge, staying up to date with local, government and best practice.
  • To provide leadership and direction around wider responsibilities for the successful running of the home.

Focus on the people we support


  • Support the Registered Home Manager in fostering a culture of openness and transparency.
  • Ensure staff understand their roles, particularly regarding duty of candour.
  • Conduct assessments, plan, implement, and evaluate individual support in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Monitor and audit support plans and risk assessments, providing coaching for consistency in care planning.
  • Respond to changes in residents’ needs and implement strategies to minimize impact.
  • Oversee daily care planning, provision, and record-keeping in compliance with CQC and regulations.
  • Ensure timely updates of plans and confidentiality of information.
  • Maintain open communication with residents, families, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Manage medication processes, including ordering, audits, and staff competency assessments.
  • Lead risk management and health & safety, ensuring incidents are reported and addressed.
  • Handle complaints compassionately and in line with policy.
  • Support staff training and ensure familiarity with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff report accidents, incidents, and unsafe practices appropriately.
  • Educate and guide staff on safeguarding and whistleblowing.
  • Enforce infection control and COSHH regulations as per safety guidelines.
