Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse – CAMHS

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: £44,000 - £48,000 + £5000 Welcome Bonus!

Our client's hospital offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults.

The role is based on a CAMHS Low Secure Unit (LSU) which offers therapeutic and rehabilitative services for young females aged 13-18. In addition to self-harm, the majority of the young people being treated have other risk issues and complex needs including:

- Those who may have suffered childhood trauma

- Young people who present with complex PTSD, Attachment Disorder or emerging Personality Disorder

- Young people who have had multiple or long admissions to Tier 4 Acute CAMHS inpatients services.

Working as part of a multi-skilled, experienced and motivated multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for contributing to the efficient and safe day-to-day delivery of effective clinical care and risk management of the young people.

Job Description

·       The role of the Deputy Ward Manager is to provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manager. The duties of the role include but are not limited to:

·       Assisting the Ward Manager in providing day to day management and supervision of the ward

·       Assisting the Ward manager in providing management and supervision of a team of registered and unregistered staff.

·       Implementing best practice across the ward

·       Support changes within the service

·       Responsible for the clinical direction of the service

·       Support the delivery of personalised care and contribute to service improvement

·       Supporting and contributing to MDT practice

·       Implementation and evaluation of therapeutic interventions within an overall care programme

·       Assisting the ward manager in ensuring that care and treatment is provided meets the standards set by regulators.

Requirements

·       Active Registration with the NMC, meeting the requirements of Revalidation Trained Mentor

·       Clinical Supervision experience essential, training desirable

·       Evidence of Continued Professional Development and intent to maintain and develop CPD

·       and leadership

·       Highly developed communication skills

·       Good computer skills

·       Experience in Mental Health or Learning Disability services

·       At least 3 years, or equivalent experience post-registration
