The Role



We are seeking a talented Design Coordinator to join our clients growing team. This pivotal role involves managing the design process for large commercial projects�in Cardiff, ensuring designs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will act as a key liaison between internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors, driving efficiency and ensuring seamless project execution. Time will be spent on site and in the head office.



Key Responsibilities




  • Coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Review and manage design information, identifying and resolving design-related issues.

  • Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and contract specifications.

  • Monitor design progress against project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of all design elements.

  • Assist in value engineering exercises to optimise project efficiency.

  • Support bid teams with design input during tender stages.



Requirements




  • Proven experience in a similar Design Coordinator role, preferably within a contractor environment.

  • Strong knowledge of construction design processes and building regulations.

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and project management tools.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects�

  • Relevant qualifications in construction, architecture, or engineering.
