My client are a prestigious, award-winning UK property and construction group with an excellent reputation for delivering significant, high-quality projects across the country. Schemes include luxury mixed-use developments and major residential / student accommodation projects.

They are now recruiting for a Design Manager to join their business. You'll be working on projects across the Manchester and surrounding areas.

As the Design Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design process for various projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with development design codes and guidelines.
  • Reviewing and approving architectural plans from self-builders and custom builders.
  • Collaborating with architects, contractors, and engineers for cohesive design implementation.
  • Liaising with planning authorities to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
  • Communicating with plot buyers to understand their design requirements and provide guidance.
  • Conducting site visits to monitor construction progress and quality.
  • Maintaining design standards throughout the construction phase.
  • Addressing design-related issues that arise during the build process.
  • Promoting sustainability and innovation:
  • Encouraging sustainable building practices and ensuring eco-friendly designs.
  • Advocating for innovative design solutions that enhance the community's aesthetic and functional quality.

Skills required:

  • Extensive understanding of building codes and design standards.
  • Capable of overseeing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Skilled in using design software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
