Design Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to work in main contracting background across a variety of hotel developments valuing from �5m up to �35m. This client is a family run business with an entrepreneurial vision giving you a huge amount of opportunity for growth and progression. The majority of their work is converting existing buildings into hotels, from retail and office spaces.

About the role of Design Manager:

• Coordinating design activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the desired quality.
• Managing the design team and responsible for delivering projects in accordance with client's requirements.
• Understanding and managing changes to scope, budget, and programme.
• Identifying project risks and opportunities and escalating any matters to the Design Manager and site team at the earliest opportunity.
• Manage the on-site delivery of projects working closely with the Project Manager and Site Managers and visiting live sites regularly.
• Lead Design Team Meetings, taking minutes and reporting back to the Design Manager.

Requirements for the Design Manager role:

• Degree or equivalent qualification with experience working on similar projects.
• Experience of working within a main contractor, developer, or consultancy.
• A hard working and organised individual, who is a team player, reliable and shows initiative.
• Technically minded, possesses good attention to detail and is happy visiting sites and managing the delivery of projects.
• Can address, manage, and resolve design issues as they arise with the site team.
