My Client, a local residential contractor is recrutiing for an�experienced Design Manager to join thier team. Working on their offices on the south coast you will be responsible for a team of two and you will report to the Operations director of the business.
Role Description�
The Production Design Manager plays a pivotal part in the development and delivery of the companies modular build system. Leading a strong team of Architectural Technologists to complete the DfMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly) process for each project Boutique Modern undertakes, for both private and social housing clients. The role will need to champion accuracy, compliance, buildability and innovation.
Roles and Responsibilities�
- Managing the Design for Production Task in the TMS (Total Management System)�
- Providing key input at Tender, Design for Construction and Module Delivery.
- Managing the Production Design Team, monitoring and planning workload, output, quality and talent development. �
- Setting and managing of design programmes for the department.
- Managing development and compliance of the Build System, leading on external Technical Audits. �
- Buying into the companies�culture of continuous improvement in all aspects from process to improvement of the Boutique Modern Build System.
- Working closely with the Production Team to ensure understanding, compliance and improvement of the Build System.
- Management of external Design consultants and engineers.
- Leading on the Quality Assurance and document control for the output of the Department.
- Review of supplier quotations, checking for accuracy and compliance.
- Undertaking out clash detection between modular and on-site design. �
- Managing resources in the department
- Interfacing with Building Control and Warranty provider
- Spearheading compliance with Building Regulations and keeping up to date with changes
Required Qualifications/Experience�
- Degree-level qualification in Architecture, architectural technology or similar.
- High proficiency in the use Autodesk Revit (Level 3 minimum).
- Experience of working from RIBA Stage 2 - 6.
- Understanding of UK Building Regulations. �
Desirable Qualifications/Experience�
- Management experience (3 years minimum)
- Experience and understanding of off-site or modular design.
- Experience in timber frame / Steel frame technical
- Understanding of MEP technical design.�
- Experience in residential construction
- Understanding of Dynamo Software
- Experience in Rendering software.
Office hours are 8.30am - 5 pm Monday to Friday
25 days annual Leave + Bank holidays
