Our client is a well-known construction and civil engineering contractor operating within the UK and Ireland with internationally-renowned experience in the successful delivery of technically demanding, multi-disciplinary and logistically complex projects.



Due to an increasing workload, they now have a requirement for a Design Manager from a main construction contractor background to get involved in a��multi-million life science construction award�in Cambridge.



The role will be based in Cambridge��



Design Management experience of constructing life science projects in particular and/or hotels/commercial/leisure/healthcare/educational or similar would be of benefit.



It is essential that individuals applying for this opportunity must have previously worked for a Tier 1 construction contractor in a similar role which involves managing the design process in either a site based role and/or bid involvement for projects with values from �5 million to �50 million and above.





Duties & Responsibilities:



The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the design process supervising consultants, subcontractors and suppliers. This candidate should have an excellent knowledge of practical construction methodology in addition to a strong track record in managing technical information on projects.
Desirable Experience:
Extensive experience as a Design Manager on build projects, from �20 million plus.

Significant experience with main construction contractors in pure Design Management roles.

Adept with the appointment and supervision of external consultants.

Sector experience will ideally include education, healthcare and commercial

Previous Roles: Senior Design Manager OR Design Manager OR Senior Design Co-ordinator.�
Qualifications & Skills:



Recognised degree qualification or equivalent and CIOB or equivalent is preferable.



Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management from a recognised institution at 2:1 or above
