Designated Safeguarding Lead - Mainstream Secondary School - Hounslow - Permanent - Full Time�





We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our outstanding Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school in Hounslow. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students by leading and managing all aspects of safeguarding within the school.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Safeguarding Management:




    • Lead and manage all safeguarding and child protection matters in the school.

    • Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures.

    • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records of all safeguarding concerns.




  • Training and Awareness:




    • Provide training and support to staff on safeguarding and child protection issues.

    • Ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding.

    • Conduct regular safeguarding briefings and updates.




  • Liaison and Communication:




    • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns.

    • Liaise with local authorities, external agencies, and parents/carers regarding safeguarding issues.

    • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents/carers on safeguarding matters.




  • Risk Assessment and Response:




    • Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate measures are in place to protect students.

    • Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.

    • Coordinate the referral of cases to social services or other relevant agencies.




  • Monitoring and Evaluation:




    • Regularly review and update safeguarding policies and procedures.

    • Monitor the effectiveness of safeguarding practices and make improvements as necessary.

    • Prepare reports for senior leadership and governors on safeguarding matters.





Qualifications and Experience:




  • Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, child protection, or social work.

  • Extensive experience in a safeguarding or child protection role within an educational setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practices.
