Our client is seeking a Development Control Engineer on a contract basis to join their dynamic team. This crucial role involves providing highway and development advice to support the planning service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the statutory consultee, providing advice and written responses on highway planning and development matters in compliance with relevant guidelines and legislation.
- Preparing and managing legal agreements under the Highways Act 1980, including:
- Section 38 agreements for the adoption of infrastructure.
- Section 278 agreements for improvement works within the adopted highway.
- Section 116 stopping up of the adopted highway to enable developments.
- Providing highway advice at planning committees when required.
- Managing the financial aspects of Highways Agreements.
- Maintaining the authority's highway adoption records and managing street naming and numbering.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in development control within the HTP sector.
- Understanding of the Highways Act 1980 and relevant planning legislation.
- Ability to prepare and manage legal agreements related to highway and development projects.
- Knowledge of the Tees Valley Design Guide, DMRB, and Manual for Streets II.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
