Development Director - Renewable Energy Investments

Our client is a leading investment fund specialising in renewable energy projects. Their mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future by strategically investing in innovative renewable energy solutions. They are committed to generating superior returns for investors while making a positive environmental impact.The Development Director will be instrumental in advancing our clients renewable energy investment strategy. This individual will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing new investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector, developing strategic partnerships, enhancing the fund's overall development strategy and advising on greenfield project development. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and capitalise on new investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.Collaborate with senior management to refine the fund’s long-term strategic goals focused on renewable energy.Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in various renewable energy technologies, including Solar, Wind, BESS, Hydrogen, Repowering and Life Extension.Conduct due diligence, financial modelling, and risk assessments for prospective renewable energy investments.Prepare detailed investment proposals and present recommendations to the investment committee.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including renewable energy developers, investors, partners, and industry experts.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing development team focused on renewable energy investments and greenfield project development.Monitor the performance of renewable energy investments and provide regular updates to senior management and investors.Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on the fund’s renewable energy development activities.Qualifications:Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in investment management, with a focus on renewable energy projects.Excellent understanding of greenfield project development and the associated challengesProven track record of identifying and executing successful renewable energy investment opportunities.Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modelling and risk assessment.Excellent leadership and team management abilities.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Ability to think strategically and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
