My client in the West Midlands is currently on the search for a DFG Caseworker for a 5-month period.
Day-to-day duties
Dealing with DFG case progression for simple and non-complex adaptations from enquiry through to works completion.
Support the service with implementation of a new IT system, case testing and inputting of data.
Undertake financial assessments on resources in line with legislation and internal policies to consider financial eligibility for the grant.
Providing advice and support to all customer's accessing the service, irrespective if they are eligible for assistance.
To collate all necessary information required to support enquiries/applications for Disabled Facilities Grants, Council Housing Adaptations or other assistance available through the Housing Assistance Policies
Experience of home adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) delivery, including test of resources is essential.
Experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) and experience of working with IT systems to maintain records and produce documents and reports.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
Experience of providing services to disabled and/or older people and an understanding of the challenges they face.
Additional Details:
Contract: 5 months.
Rate: DoE
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 37 hours per week.
