Our client is seeking a Digital Director to lead their efforts in acquiring new online customers in a direct-to-consumer (D2C) environment. This individual will be a hands-on leader with extensive experience in using in-house teams to deliver aggressive customer acquisition strategies and drive growth. The role is designed for someone who thrives on delivering tangible results, has a deep understanding of customer acquisition across both short- and long-term timelines, and is adept at utilizing internal and external data sources to inform strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire an in-house team to drive obsessive focus on new customer acquisition and online growth.
- Use data and insights from multiple sources to inform customer acquisition strategies, going beyond standard reporting to uncover actionable insights.
- Develop strategies that deliver not only short-term ROI but also long-term lifetime value (LTV) for the business.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and key stakeholders across marketing, commercial finance, and data teams to ensure alignment on objectives and ensure the necessary resources are provided to achieve growth.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with senior leadership and peers to ensure cross-functional teams understand their roles in driving customer and online growth.
- Be hands-on and integrated into the team's day-to-day activities; spend three days in the business per week (Tuesday-Thursday) to provide support and foster collaboration across departments. If you could do 5 days in the office that's even better| we want this person to be driving to real, visible change, a strong presence in the office
Key Requirements:
- In-house expertise: Proven experience in driving customer acquisition in a D2C environment, having worked extensively with internal teams to achieve aggressive growth goals. Agencies may play a supporting role, but the focus will be on hands-on delivery with an in-house team. The more done in house the better!
- Data-driven decision-making: Ability to analyse and use both internal and external data sources to shape acquisition strategies. Must have experience going beyond basic reporting to identify customer segments and craft strategies that deliver sustainable and profitable growth.
- Commercial acumen: A deep understanding of how to acquire new customers while ensuring the business achieves acceptable ROI, particularly in balancing short-term acquisition and long-term customer lifetime value.
- Leadership: Experience managing and leading teams, with the ability to clearly communicate needs, align cross-functional teams, and navigate internal structures to get the resources necessary for success.
- Collaboration: Ability to work closely with multiple teams, such as marketing, commercial finance, and data, and ensure that everyone is aligned to achieve customer acquisition goals.
- Hands-on approach: Willingness to work directly with teams on a daily basis, spending three days a week on-site at the Brand HQ.
