The Independent Schools Examinations Board (ISEB) provides rigorous, high-quality assessments and qualifications for prep and senior schools across the UK and internationally, backed by the leading independent school associations - GSA, IAPS and HMC. ISEB has a heritage dating back to 1904 and aims to continue to deliver innovative, world-leading assessments, qualifications, accreditation and admissions products and services for the independent schools’ sector and beyond.We are looking for a creative, driven and highly skilled Digital Marketing Manager to lead our digital marketing team and activities, as well as run and develop our e-commerce activities. This role will line manage a small team within our Marketing, Communications & Sales department and will be responsible for using growth and digital marketing strategies to generate B2B leads for our sales team and to grow B2B and B2C revenue. Reporting to, closely working with, and at times deputising for the Head of Marketing, Communications & Sales, the Digital Marketing Manager will work with the senior team to formulate growth marketing strategies and to plan a wide range of digital marketing activities and campaigns in line with company and departmental goals and strategies. The Digital Marketing Manager will also be responsible for our online shop and products, and for boosting e-commerce sales revenue. They will liaise with our external web developers, managing the pipeline of website and online shop development projects and fixes.You will devise and deliver digital marketing strategies and initiatives for growth across all digital platforms, including social media, email, our website and our online shop to drive the growth of B2B and B2C sales revenue. You’ll deliver engaging and highly targeted lead generation campaigns for our sales team, as well as data and content led inbound marketing campaigns. With your team, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day management of email marketing, social media (organic and paid), online events and webinars, website content, SEO and paid search, and e-commerce.You will set the strategy for ‘always on’ digital activity – identifying and targeting internal and external opportunities and acting with agility to take full advantage of any growth activities. You will test creative approaches to learn what resonates with our audiences and which tactics perform best, and use data to refine our marketing activities for best possible ROI.This role would suit someone with five-ten years of experience in a digital marketing role, and with line management experience. Experience with both B2B and B2C marketing, as well as e-commerce management/marketing would be advantageous. Regular travel to London will be required, as well as travel to Hampshire from time to time.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork with the senior team to devise growth, inbound marketing and brand building strategies and KPIs. Own the planning and delivery of these strategies and activities to increase conversion and analyse and present results. Ensure that leads are successfully provided to the sales team for follow up.Create compelling campaigns that engage our target customers and increase conversion to ISEB’s products and services.Own ISEB’s e-commerce platform and take responsibility for the smooth delivery of online sales and customer support. Develop strategies, including commissioning new products to diversity our offer, to increase overall online sales revenue.Own the ISEB website and other online platforms continually looking for ways to improve the customer experience and ensure the right information is available at the right time. Ensure that SEO best practices and content marketing strategies are employed to increase traffic and engagement and lead on the development of regular reports, utilising insights to inform growth and sales strategies. Develop and manage ISEB’s social media and online advertising strategies.Develop and write engaging, customer-centric copy for marketing campaigns and materials and deliver all digital activities in line with ISEB’s brand tone of voice and style guide. Take responsibility for ensuring all digital materials and communications are error-free and of the best possible quality.Work with the wider team to plan and deliver, distribute and leverage a wide range of digital content materials. Plan and budget digital marketing activities, recording and reviewing spend against KPIs to ensure the best possible ROI. Build and maintain data lists for marketing purposes within GDPR guidelines, and always look for ways to generate mailing list sign-ups. Through the digital marketing team, deliver online events and webinars and promote ISEB’s online and offline events as required to encourage signup or sell tickets. PERSON SPECIFICATIONIdeally, experience in and an understanding of the education, assessment, and/or education technology sectors.Experience in both B2B and B2C marketing and a strong understanding of their principles, differences and marketing approaches.Proven expertise in and a strong understanding of digital marketing best practice, tools, techniques and measurement, and in devising and delivering digital marketing campaigns and strategies across a complex product portfolio.An ability to digest data and extract insights to inform strategies and campaigns, and to analyse results to improve future activities.Strong project and campaign management skills, and the ability to manage, lead, develop and mentor others to deliver and optimise campaigns and activities.The confidence and ability to deputise for the Head of Marketing, Communications & Sales and to present strategies and results at senior team level.Highly effective communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations, collaborate across teams and with external contacts to gather information and insights.A keen drive and desire to keep on top of emerging trends and opportunities and innovations to improve digital activities to grow ISEB’s brand and sales revenue.A high level of proficiency with SEO techniques and best practices, email marketing and automation systems (ideally Mailchimp) as well as social media and online advertising platforms. Excellent knowledge of data management and GDPR practices.Excellent organisational and time-management skills, and eye for detail.Experience with WordPress and WooCommerce advantageous, and with Asana and Canva a bonus.The willingness to work cross-departmentally and use multiple different skills to support a small business achieve ambitious goals. A customer-centric approach, that puts the customer at the heart of all digital marketing and e-commerce sales activities.A self-starter who is comfortable and capable of working in a small company ‘start-up’ environment and with line managing a team remotely.
