This role will sit in the Finance Transformation team and have wide-ranging access and exposure to multiple other teams and stakeholders across the wider Finance org. The purpose of this role is to ensure our Finance systems are fit for purpose, scalable and can meet business, regulatory and performance needs now and in the future. This role incorporates responsibility for our key enterprise third party platforms, supporting all areas of our internal Finance teams. The incoming Director will also lead integration efforts between these external platforms alongside Checkout.com's internal and existing tooling.This will be a hands-on role operating across the application domain, working with stakeholders from Finance, IT and across our Product and Engineering teams. This opportunity will play a driving role in determining the technical architecture and functional design needed to support and meet company business goals. There will be many opportunities for this remit to continue to grow as our system landscape evolves and Finance Transformation projects are delivered on a wider scale.Role overview | Remit and ResponsibilitiesAmongst other duties, the incoming Director, Enterprise Architect will be responsible for:Defining the architecture for all third party finance systems including; Workday Financials, Accounting Center, Prism and Adaptive (deep knowledge of these systems is essential) KyribaSWIFTCoupaDell BoomiLongviewNavanAutorek … and other future systemsOverseeing integration and migration activities to suit enterprise-wide architecturesPartnering on the design and implementation of our Transactional Ledger programme to provide a single source of truth across Accounting and Treasury activities; supporting and enabling the continued growth of Checkout.comOverseeing and consulting across areas including planning, migration and implementationDefining architectural principles, standards and data structuresLeading new system implementations and building out of new use cases within existing systemsPartnering with the wider Finance team to improve systems and processesCreating detailed project plans, RAID logs, RACIs and reporting on progress to governance forumsArticulating complex roadmaps, deliverables and strategies to a broad range of stakeholders across a variety of levels Building, leading and supporting a team of five system specialists QualificationsRole overview | Desired Background, Core CompetenciesThe ideal candidate for the role will bring: A strong knowledge of Finance systems; specifically, must have led implementations of Workday Financials and Workday Accounting CenterPrior experience with Workday Adaptive, Workday HCM, Coupa, Dell Boomi and Longview will be beneficialExperience with controllership, purchase to pay, budgeting and forecasting, HR Information Systems, middleware and tax is strongly preferred Track record leading complex Finance Transformation projects/programmes; including implementing systems and improving processes through systematic re-engineeringStrong understanding of ITGCs, including how to set these up in the systems listed previously and ability to provide evidence of their effectivenessUnderstanding of broader best-practice Finance processesExpertise in educating stakeholders regarding Finance-related processes and how they impact to broader business goals - this person will need to play a ‘translator’-style role where they can relate low-level technical decision-making to wider business impact and vice versa Strong understanding of how Accounting processes should work to ensure they are efficient and controlled.Strong understanding of systems and integration approachesExcellent at communicating to senior stakeholders and team members to identify issues and propose solutionsAbility to identify problems, define the root cause, determine the solution and propose the solution. Proficiency in translating technical expertise into solutions and process guidance to implement improvements or address user issuesAbility to map processes, outlining risks and controlsDepth of experience in data analysis, data processing and reportingIf you feel that you don't meet all the requirements but think you might still be right for the role, please apply anyway.
