These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.Connect to your opportunity We are looking to recruit a Legal Director – Internet Law & Regulation to help lead and develop our evolving legal service offering in this new and developing area.Internet Law and Regulation is new and our team reflects that, drawing together like-minded motivated lawyers with expertise across a broad range of issues (technology, regulatory and compliance, content risks, media, advertising, competition, consumer, technology, IP, privacy, litigation etc) and from in-house, public sector and private practice. If you have a focus in these areas or you are working in a regulated sector (eg FS or telecoms or anti-trust) but would like a change of focus to technology then this may be for you!The team works for many household-name clients as well as fast-growing companies. We provide advisory and risk and compliance advice, often acting in large cross-jurisdictional cross-expertise Deloitte teams on major projects for our clients.As a Director, you will also be responsible for initiating and leading the pursuit of new business development opportunities, project managing the day-to-day delivery of our legal services, and mentoring and training junior associates.Connect to your skills and professional experienceWe are looking for lawyers with relevant experience either in private practice or in-house. Most importantly, because this area (TMT regulation) is new, we are looking for lawyers who want to develop their careers in this space - rather than expecting you to have experience across the breadth of the topics.The successful candidate will be common law qualified and want to work in the newly regulated TMT sector. They will have either:Regulatory and compliance experience (which may be in another regulated sector such as financial services) and/orSubject matter expertise in topics such: content risk & online safety (UK Online Safety Act or EU DSA for example), AI, media, advertising, competition, consumer, privacy, regulatory enforcement or litigation, or equivalent.In addition we seek candidates with:An active interest and ability to proactively support business development activity, creating and maintaining strong client relationships and identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.An enthusiastic and responsive approach to client requirements, comfortable with client contact and previous responsibility for client matters.Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style with the ability to liaise effectively with other fee earners from within the group, but also to liaise and coordinate with other departments and jurisdictions as required.The ability and experience to project manage the delivery of complex matters alongside proven negotiation skills.Ability to work effectively in a challenging, team-based environment.Connect to your business - Deloitte LegalBy connecting legal expertise and technological innovation, we’re creating a new future for law.
