The Global Leveraged Finance Research Group is responsible for producing a portfolio of research across the US and European Leveraged Finance Markets. This includes research on defaults and distress, credit performance focused quarterly reports and ad hoc commentary that speaks to timely and noteworthy trends in the market. We ll Count on You To: Develop the analytical methodology of and maintaining Fitch s European bond and loan default forecasts Maintain and expand a suite of global research on defaults and market analysis Have a strong understanding of database infrastructure, and can serve as a liaison with the product development team, articulating the needs of the analytical team as the development team builds out or adds onto existing products and tools. Be involved in communicating rating rationale backing analysis to external audiences (primarily institutional investors, sell-side analysts and media) in meetings, conference calls, press releases and written research reports Write timely and effective research on topical issues Represent Fitch at panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations, regulatory bodies etc. Mentor and manage junior members of the Leverage Finance team As a senior member of the Global Leveraged Finance Research team, you will also play a key role in all aspects of research on the U.S. market, including writing and analysis for marquee reports. What You Need to Have: Bachelor's degree at minimum, MBA or other advanced degree a plus Proven experience, which must include some coverage or knowledge of the Leverage Finance market Corporate Finance experience Fluent with Bloomberg, Excel (including ability to create and use macros), Word and PowerPoint, understanding of PYTHON, VBA, SQL a plus Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills Excellent writing and verbal communication skills Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment What Would Make You Stand Out: Has solid experience in European and U.S. leveraged finance and capital markets including distressed debt, restructuring and/or bankruptcy analysis , speculative grade credit analysis and well-developed corporate finance skills Has exceptional writing skills Motivated self-starter who takes ownership of a global research portfolio and is able to self-manage with no oversight Demonstrates solid understanding of credit fundamentals and ability to identify positive or negative credit trends in issuer performance Is an excellent presenter and communicator, passionate about showcasing his/her work product and representing Fitch at industry events and individual stakeholders Has experience executing on research projects from idea generation through writing and presenting at industry events and in media Has strong process and project management skills Has a strong pattern of leadership and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization Why Fitch?
