GES offers flawless execution and superior experiential marketing services that excite and engage.The Director of Business Applications (EMEA) will have responsibility for driving the transformation of GES EMEA business applications into a widely recognized strategic asset that enables business simplifications, transformation, and growth. This includes responsibility for all enterprise architecture, solution development, software engineering, and integration. This role requires proven success driving enterprise business transformation across business functions, business process re-engineering, change management, program management and end-to-end solution design and architecture.Responsibilities:The Director will report to the global GES CIO. They will also have a strong dotted line to the President of GES EMEA and will sit on the GES EMEA SLT (Senior Leadership Team).The primary responsibilities of the GES EMEA Director of Business Applications consist of, but are not limited to, the following:• Partner with the President of GES EMEA and the Senior Leadership team to build and execute a systems roadmap that is aligned with and helps drive business transformation and growth objectives. This includes replacing the legacy Order Management and eCommerce applications with modern technology more supportable and fit for purpose. It also includes building a strong partnership with the Visit and Enterprise Intelligence leader and team to maximize synergies on all software initiatives across the business.• Manage the portfolio of GES EMEA IT Business Applications, bringing an emphasis on simplification, consolidation, ease-of-use and efficiency to the applications portfolio.• Lead a team of software developers, architects, business analysts, program managers and other IT professionals required to design, configure, enhance and transform business-critical applications in a way that optimizes their usefulness for GES EMEA.• Lead a team of Business Analysts, Project Managers and other IT professionals, aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, managing the overall program portfolio, and improving the IT Track Record on delivering on-time, on-budget with quality.• Effectively collaborate with GES EMEA leadership to drive business transformation via strategic IT initiatives designed to support business growth, and improve operational efficiencies, particularly in the Quote to Cash processes.• Develop partnership with low cost off-shore vendor to reduce total cost of ownership across the software development life cycle.• Partner with the GES EMEA business leaders to design and execute a business applications roadmap that aligns with business strategy. The roadmap will include roll-out plans for new applications and scheduled upgrades.About you:You will have• 10+ years of experience leading business applications teams with an emphasis on transformation and program delivery.• 5+ years of strong enterprise and solutions architecture experience with diverse applications in an Oracle e-business Suite centric ecosystem.• Experience architecting and integrating edge applications like Sales Force.• Proven experience improving software development and deployment cycle times via agile methodologies and other industry best practices.• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, or equivalent degree and/or experience.• Strong leadership skills – ability to build, develop and influence a team to win.• Strong presentation and organisation skills.• Flexibility to travel as required.• Strategic, solution-based problem-solving skills.At GES, we value innovation, excellence, and sustainability. We operate a reward strategy based on our team members receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.Hours of workNormal working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm.
