Director of Energy Markets and Technology

In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer and other cross-functional teams to drive the company's growth in the energy markets sector, working to secure tomorrow's energy today. Key Responsibilities: Accountable to the CTO for leading the TMT view on energy markets, battery technology and trading in region and support relevant team members in these activities Accountability on market revenue, BESS technical strategy and assumptions, trading assumptions across UK, Italy and new markets in EU Accountability and management of commercial revenue and trading contracts during asset operations, including actively providing guidance and performance assessment on asset trading outcome and strategy where applicable Responsible for collaborating and supporting the Commercial Manager in origination of revenue contracting opportunities including network service contracts Accountable in region for providing guidance on and ensuring best in market positions on trading service contracts, LTSA, supply agreements, warranties and guarantees etc. Developing and managing regional OEM relationships and providing technology expertise and input in region alongside other key technology leaders Provide strategic input and guidance on market entry Present to investment committee on relevant aspects of key projects. Support presentation to board as required by the executive management team. Contribute to regional TMT and business strategy Guidance, input and prioritization of analytics and quantitative tools and activities Supporting and at times leading aspects of fund raising and M&A activity as required by the Investment team and EMT Mentoring, training and upskilling of technical, commercial and analytical team Regular travel for in person meetings and working with the TMT London team Regular travel for opportunities and to meet partners / stakeholders Requirements Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on energy markets and technology Proven track record in originating and negotiating revenue contracts and partnerships Strong understanding of energy market dynamics and trends Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Exceptional leadership and communication abilities Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, advanced degree preferred European languages a plus Benefits At Eku Energy, we're passionate about driving the clean energy transition, our purpose-built team combines deep global expertise in financial and energy markets with specialist technical capabilities, including origination, development, system design, power markets and software optimization.
