MS479 - Dispatch Operative 
Location: St. Mellons, Cardiff 
Salary: £24,024 per annum basic
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Dispatch Operative on behalf of one of our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with fragile loads or steel, abnormal length loads, fast paced loading and unloading (20-30 loads per shift), stock taking & container loading.
The shifts are either a week of mornings (6.00am – 14.00pm, Monday – Friday) then a week of afternoons (14.00pm – 22.00pm, Monday – Friday) on a rotational basis. 
OR 

A week of afternoons (14.00pm – 22.00pm, Monday – Friday) then week of nights (22.00pm – 06.00am, Sunday night – Friday am) on a rotational basis.
The there is a shift uplift when working afternoons & nights - 


  • Afternoon -10% per hour
  • Night Shift - 30% per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Load product in a prompt manner, communicating relevant information to the Dispatch Team Leader.
  • Liaise with Dispatch Team Leader to organise workload and priorities.
  • Liaise with Production Team Leaders to resolve any issues that may arise in relation to unsatisfactory product.
  • Load vehicles as required, ensuring “zero” loading / delivery damage.
  • Preparation of all finished goods in conjunction with the companies packaging procedures.
  • Ensuring stock levels are above minimum quantities.
  • Communicate with haulers in relation to deliveries.
  • Ensure load photos are taken of all products leaving site.
  • Ensure smooth running of deliveries, collection, customer returns, customer collections, adhering to all relevant procedures flagging issues to the Dispatch Team Leader.
  • Make recommendations to improve on performance / procedures.
  • Yard management is key. Allocating finished goods in their correct location and updating the system accurately in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring the yard is always clear of debris.
  • Any other reasonable tasks assigned by your manager or Team Leader.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • RTITB Forklift licence (Desirable).
  • Combilift license (Desirable).
  • Understanding of Dispatch processes.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment (desirable).
  • Communication skills.
  • Prioritisation skills.
  • Experience of using computer systems, emails, logging paperwork, SAP knowledge desirable.
