A flexible approach to working hours is a must, overtime may be required at busy times.We currently operate a hybrid working policy with at least 3 days office working per week. Our hybrid working policy is discretionary and may be subject to change.ABOUT SHERIDANSSheridans is the leading entertainment law firm in LondonSheridans represents individual talent and organisations across the full spectrum of the entertainment sector, including music, traditional and digital media, gaming, sport and esports, fashion, and technology.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe firm is looking to recruit two 2-5 PQE associate solicitors to assist with its broad and expanding portfolio of disputes related work.Reporting predominantly into Partners Marisa Berardi and Andrew Nixon, the successful candidate(s) will work on a range of litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters for the firm’s clients across the entertainment sector, including in relation to intellectual property, contractual disputes, agency and management disputes, royalty disputes and regulatory disputes. Additionally, the successful candidate will play a key role in working with Marisa and Andrew and other partners at the firm to develop the firm’s litigation team internally and externally and its business development strategy in relation to its dispute resolution offering with a view to developing and expanding the team’s portfolio of candidates.SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:Skills & experienceEssentialAt least 2 years of post-qualification experience in commercial and regulatory disputes litigation (including High Court), investigations and arbitration (as well as ADR) at a well-regarded firmExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience liaising with senior and influential stakeholders, both externally and internallyEnthusiasm, resilience, and a professional approach, with an excellent customer service ethicSelf-starting approach, taking ownership of matters, tasks and projects and the ability to work under own initiative and motivationA strategic and entrepreneurial mindsetComfortable sharing knowledge with other team members, upskilling and supporting other and more junior team members when necessaryCommitment to being a collaborative team player and fostering an attitude that promotes comradery, creativity and innovationAbility to liaise with, persuade and influence colleagues and clients at all levelsAbility to remain organised, prioritise and multi-task particularly when managing a large workload under pressure and to tight deadlinesAbility to work confidentially, remaining discreet at all timesFlexibility towards working out of regular hours at busy timesDesirablePrior specific experience of media, sports, entertainment and technology related disputes and contentious regulatory work including, for example:a) Music industry related disputes, such as management agreements and other contractual disputes, royalty audits, and IP.b) Film and TV industry related disputes, including clearances, disputes over rights ownership and usage, and IP.c) Reputation management and defamation claims.d) Sport related disputes and contentious regulatory matters spanning general contractual disputes to sport-specific arbitrations and investigations.Ability to effectively communicate in other languagesBurgeoning network or following in the broader entertainment industrySome experience in know-how and other content generation and presentationComfortable with public speakingQualificationsStrong academic recordSolicitor admitted in England & WalesEQUAL OPPORTUNITIESOur aim is for all staff to feel welcomed at Sheridans and ultimately be their true self at work.
