Family Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Couple to join a small, close-knit team on a private estate located near the Cheshire border. The role is for a British international family of four who have multiple homes across the world and travel extensively. This will require the couple to accompany the family on long periods of travel to their various residences. Experience in private household service or high-end hospitality / Hotel is desirable. Housekeeper Responsibilities:
The Housekeeper will be entrusted with ensuring the home is maintained to the highest standards, along with occasional support in meal preparation when the family is at the residence. The home has an established team of three housekeepers who have been with the family for many years.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Overseeing the daily running of the household
Assisting with light meal preparation
Packing and unpacking for family trips
Cleaning and maintaining both communal and private areas of the home
Conducting deep cleaning tasks throughout the property
Organising and maintaining the kitchen space
Managing laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care
Ensuring household supplies, toiletries, and provisions are restocked
Tidying the immediate outdoor areas, such as courtyards
Changing bedding and towels as required
Managing household waste and recycling
Pet care as needed
Occasionally helping with childcare when required
Regular travel with the family to north America, south of France and other destinations as required. Regular downtime will be given during these trips.
Handyman/Driver Responsibilities:
The Handyman/Driver will oversee the general upkeep and security of the property and assist with outdoor tasks, including garden maintenance.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Overseeing the general day-to-day operations of the estate
Carrying out both interior and exterior general maintenance tasks
Managing security systems and alarm checks
Maintaining and caring for household vehicles
Looking after outbuildings
Performing minor DIY repairs and maintenance
Coordinating with external contractors when necessary
Running household errands
Painting, treating surfaces, and handling specialized maintenance tasks
Conducting basic plumbing and electrical work
Monitoring and replacing garden lighting as needed
Checking and cleaning gutters
Lawn mowing and basic garden upkeep
Addressing minor issues like burst pipes
Providing pet care as required
Regular travel with the family to north America, south of France and other destinations as required. Regular downtime will be given during these trips.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and maintain the highest levels of discretion. You will be joining an established team on the estate. Flexibility and adaptability to different environments are essential. Extensive travel with the clients is required throughout the year.
Days of work, salary and accommodation
Working Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility will be required to work weekends when required, with time off during the week. Regular travel to the principal's other properties is required.
Accommodation: There are several accommodation options on the estate details which will be provided during the interview process. Please note that dependents cannot be accommodated.
Salary: Up to £65-£70K gross per annum, dependent on experience (a performance review and salary assessment will be conducted after 6 months) + bonuses.
