Salary: £125 – £165 per day*
GSL Education is working with a reputable secondary school in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, to appoint a passionate and dynamic Drama Teacher for supply and mid-term contracts. You will be teaching students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive school environment.
About the Role:
As a Drama Teacher, you will deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire students to explore their artistic abilities, develop confidence, and foster teamwork. You will play a key role in supporting students' academic progress and personal development through drama, while contributing to the wider cultural life of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering Lessons: Deliver inspiring drama lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, ensuring all students are challenged and engaged.
Student Progress: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead or contribute to school drama productions, clubs, and other extra-curricular activities to further enrich students’ experiences.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the Performing Arts department and across the school to contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging participation and creativity.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must hold QTS, with a specialism in Drama or Performing Arts.
Passion for Drama: Enthusiasm for teaching drama and a desire to inspire students to express themselves creatively.
Experience Teaching Drama: Previous experience teaching drama at the secondary level is desirable, though applications from newly qualified teachers are welcome.
Strong Communication Skills: The ability to engage and motivate students, while working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers.
Organisational Skills: The ability to plan, manage, and deliver lessons and extra-curricular activities effectively.
