We are recruiting for a reliable and skilled Driver/Fitter �on behalf of our Customer, a Plant and machinery hire company based in Milton Keynes - MK14 5BP



This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining hands-on servicing, repairs, and maintenance of specialist hire equipment with driving duties. You will be working within a close-knit team, ensuring all equipment is fully operational and delivered efficiently to customers.



About the Role



As a Driver/Fitter, you will play a key role in maintaining and servicing hire equipment while also assisting with deliveries and collections. You will ensure that all equipment is in excellent working order, conduct repairs when required, and support external breakdowns.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Service, repair, and maintain a range of equipment and accessories.

  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with company requirements.

  • Complete all necessary paperwork for company records.

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

  • Keep the work area clean, tidy, and organised.

  • Ensure all company tools are used correctly and returned appropriately.

  • Assist in loading/unloading company and customer vehicles.

  • Support external breakdowns and provide assistance as needed.

  • Assist other staff for training and development.

  • Undertake driving duties to cover demand, holiday, and sickness periods.



Hours of Work:




  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • 15-minute morning and afternoon breaks

  • 30-minute lunch break



Salary




  • Competitive salary of �25,000 - �26,000 (subject to experience)

  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)

Required Skills & Experience:




  • Previous experience in equipment servicing, repair, or maintenance (preferred).

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, petrol, and diesel-powered tools.

  • A full UK driving licence.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of work.

  • A reliable and proactive approach to tasks.
