DT Technician

Job Description:

We are looking for an organized, proactive, and skilled DT Technician to support our Design and Technology department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our DT workshops, providing technical support to both staff and students, and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for DT lessons and projects.
• Assist teaching staff during practical DT lessons and demonstrations.
• Ensure all machinery, tools, and equipment are maintained and serviced according to health and safety standards.
• Support students in using equipment safely and effectively.
• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the DT workshops.
• Assist in the development of teaching resources and materials.
• Provide technical advice and support for school projects and events.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a similar role or relevant technical background in Design and Technology.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures within a workshop environment.
• Proficiency in using and maintaining a variety of DT equipment and machinery.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive and flexible approach to work.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.
