We are seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Leeds on a long-term basis starting ASAP.

The School has been acknowledged for its high standards of behaviour and curriculum excellence, earning it an OFSTED 'Good' rating. Being a comprehensive school, every student is guaranteed to realise their greatest potential.

Location: Leeds

Salary: £22,000 - £23,454 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

Start Date: January 2025

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a DT Technician or similar role in an educational or practical setting.
  • Relevant qualifications for the role.
  • An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)..
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Strong knowledge of workshop tools and equipment
  • The ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities


  • Support the Head of Design and Technology with department planning
  • Preparation of teaching materials e.g. materials & tools/equipment as required
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and productive learning environment
  • To provide regular classroom support in D&T working alongside staff particularly supporting the less able students.
  • Assessing the risks associated with technician tasks
  • Assist students with technical advice during project work.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with current safety regulations.
