Our client, a leading Engineering company, is looking for an E&I Installations Supervisor to join them on a permanent basis. Please note this role will require travel to client sites accross the UK and frequent overnight stays
Primary Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Site Manager to help to ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Liaise with the Electrical Project Engineer to produce Electrical Installation Specifications.
- Day to day management of site subcontract labour, reviewing RAMS and coordinating site work permits including LOTO.
- Review technical drawings and distribute information to electrical installation supervisors.
- Manage the storage and safe distribution of:
- Installation Materials
- Instrumentation
- Liaise with CAD engineer to document proposed routing of cable containment for client approval.
- Liaise with the Electrical Project Engineer to produce installation planning documents, then monitor and record installation progress against them.
- Identify and correctly install instrumentation from design package, advising the mechanical installation team of best installation practises. For, but not limited to:
- Magnetic flowmeters
- Coriolis flowmeters
- Pressure transmitters
- Temperature transmitters
- Ensure that all electrical requirements of the design package, issued at the start of the installation, are met.
- Prepare site commissioning file, complete with construction status electrical drawings.
- Assist with power up procedure once installation is complete.
- Lead setup and I/O testing of devices (valves, VSDs, instruments) in liaison with software engineer and provide process commissioning support.
- Assist the client with power up procedure once installation is complete.
- Liaise with the Electrical Project Engineer to provide technical solutions to any issues raised onsite with the installation.
- Support sales by surveying site in conjunction with electrical contractors to carry out concept design and obtain quotes
- Troubleshoot existing system as required by customers and provide solutions
Preferred Experience
- Good understanding of UK legislation, including BS7671
- Experience with instrumentation applications including but not limited to: flow, level, pressure, temperature, weight and analytical systems.
- Experience managing subcontract labour for large projects.
- A good understanding of electrical and P&I drawings.
- A good understanding of the beverage industries including all relevant regulations and certifications.
- Experience with hazardous area applications, zoning, calculations but especially installation of wiring systems.
- A good understanding of control bus systems, ASI, Profibus and industrial Ethernet networks.
Qualifications
HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with relevant industry experience.
