Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant or Early Years Educator to join our team for a full-time position at a nursery class located in Streatham, starting in September. As an Early Years TA/Educator with Opogo, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of young learners, including undertaking phonics instruction and covering the class for PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality early years education and care to nursery-aged children.
- Undertake phonics instruction, using engaging and effective teaching methods.
- Cover the class during PPA time, ensuring continuity of learning and classroom management.
- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to suit the needs of young learners.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with specific needs.
- Work closely with classroom teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
- Encourage and motivate students, fostering their independence and confidence.
- Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience working as an Early Years Teaching Assistant or Early Years Educator in nursery or early years settings.
- A strong understanding of early childhood development and the EYFS curriculum.
- Experience with phonics instruction and early literacy development.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and needs.
- A passion for supporting young learners and making a difference in their education.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
