We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a school in Batley, starting January 2025 through to July 2025. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to work with young children in a supportive, vibrant learning environment. The role runs Monday to Friday, with standard school hours, and provides the chance to contribute meaningfully to early childhood education.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities for young children.
- Support children with their social, emotional, and academic development, fostering independence and positive behaviour.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports children's exploration and creativity.
- Assist with classroom organisation, including preparing learning materials and setting up activities.
- Support children during break times and other school activities to ensure their well-being.
- Work closely with other staff members, sharing observations and contributing to planning and assessments.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an early years setting, ideally within a school or nursery environment.
- A good understanding of early childhood development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- DBS check required (or willingness to complete one).
