We’re enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future for all, and br working hard to decarbonise the planet for generations to come. br br strong About the role /strong br br The role will require you to manage routine inspection and maintenance of all br systems to ensure that our Hydro power stations meet all statutory and br legislative requirements and remain efficient and reliable to maximise br opportunities for commercial running. br br This will include supporting the design and implementation of inspection and br monitoring plans for short-, medium- and long-term asset integrity of all br electrical plant, control systems, instruments & associated systems. br br You’ll also provide essential input into E, C&I projects from project br identification, initiation, development and tendering through to delivery br processes. br br This role br covers all plants within Hydro which includes 8 conventional hydro stations br (126MW) and a pumped storage station (420MW). The stations are located from br Tongland at the Solway Firth to Cruachan that is situated on the banks of Loch br Awe approximately 180 miles apart. br br On average you’ll br be expected to attend one of the sites per week with some office attendance at br the Glasgow office for team collaboration. This role also allows for some home br working. We don’t offer a car allowance, but mileage will be paid from your br home to the site location (excluding the Glasgow office). A valid UK driving br licence is essential for this role. br br strong Who we’re looking for /strong br br To be successful in this role you’ll have a strong background in Electrical/ E, br C&I Engineering. Previous experience in Hydro or the wider power generation br sector would be ideal. br br You’ll also hold a degree or HNC in Electrical or E, C&I Engineering. br Ideally, you’ll also hold Chartered Engineer status (or be working towards br this) with a relevant institute such as the IET.
