About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking experienced ecologists to join this growing team at various levels, including Project, Senior, Associate, and Director grades. These are desk-based roles requiring a deep understanding of the UK planning system and ecological legislation. You will be responsible for analysing and coordinating ecological strategies within multi-disciplinary teams, with a focus on delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA/ES), and BREEAM assessments.
For senior roles, additional responsibilities include project and people management, ensuring successful delivery of complex projects and mentoring junior staff. Our client's many locations and flexible and hybrid working arrangements allow you to tailor your work environment to suit your needs.
About You
We are looking for passionate and knowledgeable ecologists who meet the following criteria:
Essential Requirements:
A degree in a relevant discipline and at least 2+ years of experience as a graduate ecologist in a planning or development-oriented role. (5-8+ years for senior/director roles)
A proven track record in report writing for EIA/ES, BNG, and BREEAM assessments.
A solid understanding of UK wildlife legislation and the planning system.
Good knowledge of British flora and fauna.
