Editor Licensed & Catering News Magazine Reporting to Managing Director Background The Penton Media Group is Northern Irelands leading independent publishing, exhibition and events company. Established in 1994 the company has a varied and highly successful brand portfolio across print, digital, conference, exhibitions and events. There has been a highly successful transformation of all brands to monthly digital magazines and weekly communications by way of weekly e newsletters to the specialist target markets, backed by extensive strategic social media. The specialist industry sectors we work in include hospitality, drinks, grocery, convenience and multiple retailing, tourism, leisure, petroleum, forecourt retailing, catering, veterinary profession, weddings and fashion. We are looking to recruit an experienced Editor or a Senior Journalist for Licensed & Catering News, with a proven track record of achievement, who is ready to take the next step in their career. This is a hands-on position in a focused and dedicated team of professionals. We wish to appoint an Editor for Licensed & Catering News, (est. 1940) the highly successful media brand for the Hospitality Industry and the authoritative voice of hoteliers, publicans and restaurants in NI. The successful candidate will be responsible for all editorial content in the magazine, website, e-newsletters, LCN Awards, conference-marketing and social media. They will already be an experienced journalist and talented writer who has already held a senior position and must be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness of what needs to be done to make our brands successful in 2024 and beyond, as well as the ability to write quality, relevant, knowledgeable, and entertaining content. The ability to have an eye for a breaking story that will create online engagement and generate revenue friendly ideas to support the sales team. The successful candidate will be confident, approachable and represent Penton Media Group at all industry events. Requirements: Qualified journalist with a proven track record of success Excellent writing skills and in-depth knowledge of digital platforms A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role An excellent copy writer and skilled proof-reader Accomplished in social media Must be able to show examples of high-performance publishing work in digital and print Good team player and positive attitude Good knowledge and contacts within NI business community The position offers excellent career prospects and personal development opportunities within Northern Irelands top independent publishing and exhibitions group.
