Effluent Plant Operative

Responsibilities include: Responsibility for health and safety and the health and safety of other workers and visitors. Responsibility for daily operation of the plant, to the required standards. Ensure daily checks are carried out and documented. Reporting and document any defects to engineering. Cleaning all areas of effluent area. Reporting of any damage to cleaning equipment, walls, floors etc. Using chemicals appropriately. Disposal of waste meat and ingredients Provision of a service to other areas of the company whenever required. Any other duties, which may be required by the manager. Reporting Relationships/Social Conditions: The job incumbent is a member of a team of operatives, reporting through to an Engineering Shift Manager. Effective liaison, team working and interaction with other staff are fundamental. Physical Conditions: The job is preformed mainly outside and around the factory area and involves extensive periods standing and can be labour intensive. The job holder is required to operate effectively maintaining the area clean and tidy at all times. It is imperative that the job holder is aware of health and safety regulations and adheres to them. Competencies, Knowledge and Experience required: Must be literate and numerate. Must be able to think clearly. Must be able to work as a team member. Good manual dexterity Good communication skills are desirable. Good interpersonal skills are desirable. The ability to work on own is essential. The ability to work to tight deadlines is desirable. An awareness of the importance of health and safety, Hygiene etc. is required. Previous work experience in similar work is desirable. Forklift license is desirable.
