Premier Work Support's client is looking for an Electrical Control Panel Builder for their site in Basildon. This role is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. It is essential that the candidate has a formal electrical engineering qualification (e.g., apprenticeship).

The basic equipment is made by our principals in Switzerland. The client incorporates this and other machines into the lines, linking them with their own design conveyors, enclosures, air handling, electrical control systems, and ancillary equipment.

All panel building, wiring, and PLC programming is done on-site, and various other departments specialize in pneumatics, can handling, guard building, machining, machine assembly, commissioning, and documentation.

We are looking to appoint an Electrical Control Panel Builder to work alongside the Automation Technicians to produce the electrical wiring diagrams for our electrical control systems.

Experience & Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g., apprenticeship)

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with automated production machinery or other similar capital equipment
  • Worked in a project environment in cross-functional project teams

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Automation Department in building, wiring, and installing control panels
  • Check required panel components against issued wiring diagrams and control panel layouts
  • Assemble control panel enclosures: building plinths, assembling bays, and side panels
  • Layout chassis plates in line with panel layouts and work with Electrical Design Draughtsman to accomplish the best panel layout and design
  • Assemble components onto chassis plates and fix accordingly
  • Using the issued wiring diagrams, wire the control panel working with the Electrical Design Draughtsman and Automation Technician
  • Mark up wiring diagrams as panel wiring is completed and raise any errors detected with the Electrical Design Draughtsman and Automation Technician
  • Cut any apertures within the control panels to accommodate fans, filters, and power sockets
  • Work with the Automation Department
