Job Title: Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Location: Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed design calculations and create sketches as required by project specifications.
  • Apply technical engineering knowledge to develop design solutions.
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Technicians on design and drawing tasks.
  • Assist in surveys, design, specification, and contract administration.
  • Engage in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages.
  • Attend and contribute to design team meetings.
  • Inspect and report on electrical building services systems.
  • Use specialised software for Building Services calculations.
  • Ensure designs comply with legislative and health and safety standards.
  • Produce and mark up drawings for CAD design or direct CAD design drawings.
  • Select and specify appropriate products, equipment, and standards for Electrical services.

Key Skills/Attributes & Experience:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Eligibility for Incorporated Engineer status with IET or CIBSE.
  • Proficiency in designing electrical systems from concept to detailed design stages (BSRIA BG6 Stage 4A).
  • Experience with low voltage electrical distribution, lighting, small power, fixed power, fire alarm and detection, ICT structured cabling, and cable containment.
  • Skilled in the use of Amtech and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant technical software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
