Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Bridgwater
Security Clearance: BPSS required
Salary: �65,000 - �70,000
Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement temporary electrical services design solutions for Hinkley 'C' Common Building Services.
- Ensure design integration, technical assurance, compliance, health, safety, and sustainability for defect-free handover, meeting programme and budget requirements.
- Coordinate with the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, ensuring regular information flow to comply with CDM requirements.
- Collaborate with the CBS electrical design team to provide design solutions including 690v AC distribution, 400v AC distribution, 110v AC distribution, lighting (including emergency lighting), sockets, plant and equipment supplies, fire alarm and detection systems, and general support solutions.
- Ensure no elements of integration are left out of the final designs by sharing relevant information between design services.
- Create specifications, datasheets, calculations, schedules, and drawings.
- Review and check vendor documents for electrical compliance with project specifications.
- Support the Design Manager and contribute to design/construction reviews and sign-offs.
- Consider design risks and prepare risk assessments, communicating residual risks to others.
- Provide strong technical support and identify innovative and robust solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- HNC & HND in electrical installation services.
- Excellent collaboration skills to build relationships with other designers and project teams for cost-effective and acceptable design solutions.
- Effective communication skills at all levels, with the ability to write clearly and succinctly.
- Promotion of innovation and continuous improvement in design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge and competency in Trimble Pro Design software, Dialux EVO 10.1 design software, and AutoCAD 2020 (desirable).
- Detailed knowledge of codes of practice, particularly temporary services designer duties and responsibilities under CDM and other regulatory requirements.
