Electrical Designer

Our Client has a requirement for two roles: Primary Design Engineer and Secondary Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Stafford, UK.

Role Purpose:

• To lead engineering design activities on 132kV – 400kV projects.
• To collaborate with project teams while ensuring adherence to safety and engineering standards.

Job Role Responsibilities:

Primary Design Engineer:

• Participate in safety reviews.
• Produce and review primary layouts.
• Verify structure designs.
• Interface with internal and external suppliers.

Secondary Design Engineer:

• Produce single line diagrams (SLD) and key line diagrams (KLD).
• Verify protection and control (P&C) schemes from suppliers.
• Collaborate within the project team to ensure design integrity.
• Verify designs provided by back office teams.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of National Grid specifications.
• Experience in High Voltage (HV) substation design.
• Familiarity with GE, Siemens, and Hitachi protection relays; knowledge of TP141 is a bonus.
• HVDC experience is preferred.
