Electrical Engineer - Manchester - �47,000 - �52,000

My Facilities Management/Engineering Services client are looking for a Electrical Engineer to join them on a full-time permanent basis for a large MEP project they have recently won a contract for.

The role will be responsible for the effective project engineering service, exclusively by the role holder or as part of a team of engineers under a project manager, to ensure that defined projects are engineered to specification and delivered in line with planned costs. Working with the PM/SPM to ensure that any re-engineering/variations to initially agreed plans are managed in accordance to the businesses process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide the appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that "Safety comes first" is alive, visible and engaged throughout all activities.
  • Develop installation drawings and implement best practice techniques to ensure effective delivery of the project.
  • Working with the SPM/PM to identify labour and material requirements to ensure cost effective use of same. Regularly reviewing requirements and making the appropriate recommendations to amend the programme to maximise productivity whilst minimising costs.
  • Ensuring design, installation meets internal and client specifications and statutory requirements
  • Provide leadership for the delivery team in line with the company procedures and values, working to maximise and develop the potential of the team and individuals within.
  • Ensure that all operational activities are carried out in compliance with the company procedures and external legislation governing the business operations.
  • Provide input in the preparation of the project cost plan, budgets and enhanced margin based on the contract parameters and objectives to enable the maximisation of profits.
  • Monitor and ensure that the work of the appointed sub[1]contractors is being carried out to business procedures, project specifications, legislation and programme.
  • Develop and adhere to the project specific quality plan that complies to project specifications and Business procedures to reduce all risks to the business
  • Manage the successful completion of the project in line with agreed quality and commercial plans within agreed timescales and cost constraints
  • Maintaining positive relationships with the project client through relationships and effective delivery with a view to optimising future opportunities and profitability
