Our client is the largest British owned manufacturer of general wiring cables and flexible cords in the UK.
Since 1984 they have been manufacturing cables to the highest British, European and International Standards.
Controlling every aspect of cable manufacturing at their single site factory allows them to manufacture and innovate for the electrician. As a business they continuously strive to make electricians lives easier by adding value to their products to allow quicker, neater and easier installations.
They are now seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their fast paced, dynamic and professional team at their site in Doncaster.
THE ROLE:
You will be joining a prominent manufacturing company known for producing high-quality cables. With a commitment to innovation, the business caters to diverse industries, providing reliable solutions. Regarded as one of the leading brands in the world's cable industry, they manufacture the largest range of cables in the UK.
As an Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Reactive Maintenance:
Diagnosing and resolving electrical breakdowns promptly.
Drive boards - examination, fault finding, changing fuses, and loading parameters.
PLCs - fault finding, part replacement, and program loading.
Familiarity with relays, contactors, wiring systems, wiring drawings, heater bands, thermocouples, SSR's, pumps, blowers, etc.
Troubleshooting and maintenance of various motors, including AC, DC, SERVO, and brush gear change.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM):
Collaborating with production teams to plan and execute PPM activities.
Ensuring timely and effective completion of scheduled maintenance tasks.
Contributing to the development of maintenance schedules to optimise production efficiency.
Working hours are Monday to Friday (days) working 42 hours per week, typically starting around 7.30am. However, must be flexible on start times.
The candidate
Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Preferably experienced in working with extrusion machines.
Competent in examining, fault-finding, and performing maintenance on drive boards, PLCs, relays, contactors, wiring systems, motors, and related equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
THE BENEFITS:
Salary: �35,000 - �38,000 dependant on experience
20 days holiday plus BH, increasing with service.
