Position: Electrical Estimator

Location: Salford

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join a successful M&E estimating/procurement department at a leading contractor. 

Key Responsibilities:

• M&E background with an electrical bias.


• Experience and knowledge of estimating software.


• Leverage your understanding of the local supply chain.


• Read and take off drawings using software like Bluebeam.


• Review, analyse, and comment on cost plans based on high-level design information.


• Work independently with minimal supervision.


• Engage in procurement of supplier and subcontractor packages.


• Communicate effectively and negotiate with the supply chain.


• Understand D&B contracts and prioritise health & safety.


• Collaborate within a close-knit team of M&E professionals.


• Report to the Managing Surveyor/Commercial Manager.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role.


• Minimum qualification: HNC, HND level.


• Proficiency in Microsoft packages.


• Strong communication and negotiation skills.


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


• Experience with estimating software (e.g., Xtreme Estimating) is an advantage.


• Knowledge of the local supply chain is beneficial.
