Job Title: Electrical Integration Design EngineerSalary:
up to £40,000 per annum dependent upon experienceLocation: PortsmouthWe currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an Electrical Integration Design Engineer. The role will be based in Portsmouth but offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible working hours. Individual circumstances can be discussed.They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries.Working as part of the Design Services- Electrical team, their engineers have a variety of backgrounds, coming from a combination of Industry, Armed Forces and through their own Apprenticeship Schemes. Working in tandem with their Structures, HVAC, Mechanical and Safety Teams they provide through life electrical engineering support to all Royal Naval Surface Fleet, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Submarine Platforms.Main Responsibilities: Producing Integration Design Solutions for the introduction of new equipment into Maritime Platforms, activities consisting of:Liaison with MoD Customer and Industry Partners throughout the Design processShip Survey(s)Production of an Installation Solution Pack consisting of Electrical/System Drawings, Penetrations, Cable Data Sheets, Bill of Materials and associated Installation InstructionsProduction of Ship Feasibility studiesLiaise with MoD and Industry Partners in the development of Integration RequirementsUndertake Ship Surveys in support of Equipment Material State Reports, Equipment Configuration Control and Ship Power and Load Chart ManagementConfiguring and Maintaining Ship Databases for Electrical Power Distribution and Blown Fibre NetworksSupport Ship-build electrical detailed design activities across the BusinessProvide a technical input to the Product Safety of Design Services deliverablesBenefits:Enhanced Pension scheme- up to 14% combinedFlexible working pattern including working from home/ flexible start and finish times25 holiday days plus bank holidays- 26 days after 5 years’ service/ 27 days after 10 years’ serviceShared Incentive PlanEmployee Assistance ProgrammeCycle to Work SchemeLife Assurance (you and your spouse/ partner)- 6 x salaryIll Health Income Protection/ Private Medical Insurance- 50% of salaryAbout You:Knowledge of Electrical Systems theoryInterpret and apply Electrical Design StandardsCompetent in the use of Microsoft OfficeDesirable:Working knowledge of Electrical Installation Practices and Electrical Distribution SystemsONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalentFamiliarity of AUTOCAD & FORAN toolsetsYou must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 yearsAbout Aeropeople:Whether you’re looking for your next job or searching out the next superstar to join your team…Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
