Controls Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Employment Type: Limited Company (LTD) role, outside of IR35

Rate: £34p/h

Contract Duration: 3 months rolling

Panama Shift Pattern Days and Nights

The day-to-day responsibilities of the controls engineer will involve the following.


  • You will be part of a maintenance team which will be tasked to keep production up and running.
  • 90 percent will be reactive maintenance and 10 percent will be getting involved in some projects and helping to establish a PPM schedule.
  • You will be working on HMI’s, control systems, communication systems and more,
  • You will be carrying out 3 phase installation, fault finding.
  • PLC fault finding along with Logix reading

The Controls Engineer must possess the following skills and experience.


  • Experienced Controls Engineer
  • Electrical engineering qualification
  • Must have previous experience with HMI’s PLC Architecture, control systems, limit switches, field devices etc
  • Experience with working on Allen Bradley PLC’s
  • Must be able to pass and drugs and alcohol test
