Electrical Project Manager (Bournemouth)
Location: Bournemouth
Contract: Approximately 15 Month Contract, 40 Hours per week
Salary: Negotiable
Company Department Overview:
Our company provides critical infrastructure and Energy support in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works. Our project department deliver high quality design and installation works to public services, particularly in the healthcare, energy and communications sectors.
We are looking to recruit a professional Electrical Project Manager for a new contract in Bournemouth
Primary Objective:
Reporting to our Contract Manager, this role is responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of the electrical services installation on our Bournemouth Contract, taking full responsibility for all personnel working on that contract and delivering services to the required SLA. Developing strong commercial relationships to expand the offer locally.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Management of day-to-day project delivery on designated project, including delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, supplier performance and improvement.
- Commercial management and reporting to line managers.
- Drive a Safety First and Right First Time culture across the field operations backed up through plans and engagement with suppliers.
- Manage and lead M&E field supervisors responsible for designated project.
- Ensure accidents, incidents and near misses, quality failures and service deterioration trends are investigated competently, and corrective action is taken where and when appropriate.
- Through a close working relationship with commercial, identity at the earliest opportunity risks to delivering the budget, supplier and/ or overhead cost impacting upon the project.
- Manage the operational relationship with all suppliers and have monitoring in place to ensure that the companies standards are adhered to and met.
- Manage staff, oversee work schedules, and assign specific duties accordingly.
- Deliver quality service to the client ensuring that performance standards & contractual KPIs and SLAs are met.
- Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.
- Communicate closely and provide timely and accurate periodical reports to Contract Manager defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
- Assessing designs received from client including any walkouts with client supervisors.
- Overall responsibility for all site works, methodology and programme.
- Adhering to safety to safety and performance standards
- Working as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
- To always promote a positive and professional image of the department, by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Raising and following up on non-conformance reports, to ensure that any actions identified, pursued, and resolved.
- Work safely and responsibly within the companies values and operational policies, procedures, and accepted behaviours to avoid harm to yourself, those around you and our neighbours and communities.
Relationships:
To be effective in this role the Electrical Project Manager will need to:
- Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.
- Be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively with all other departments.
Personal Specification:
To be successful in this role the Electrical Project Manager will:
- Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
- Previous experience of working on NEC 3-4 contracts.
- Previous experience of working on healthcare project delivery from electrical services perspective.
- Recognised Building Services Qualification ONC / HNC in Building services Engineering.
- Strong experience of programme management.
- Strong electrical systems background to ensure full understanding of systems for installation on designated project.
- Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Have a high standard of numeracy.
- Be educated to a G.C.S.E level B+ in Mathematics & English (or equivalent).
- Be computer literate.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Can prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations.
- Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
- A legal right to work in the UK.
- As a requirement for the Mechanical and Electrical Department an enhanced DBS check must be passed due to the client buildings being visited.
- Full UK Driving License which has been continuously held for 12 months or more, with no more than 6 points.
- A legal right to work in the UK.
Qualifications: Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Electrical engineering qualification
- Building Services qualification (HNC desired).
- APM qualification
- SMSTS certified
- IOSH/ NEBOSH
- Microsoft Project Experience
