SDUK's brands include the Nations favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.
After significant financial investment from group, leading to 11 additional packaging lines moving to the site, we are looking to hire a shift engineer (electrical biased) to the support the shifts and play a key role in the continued evolution of the engineering department and strategies.
This is a hands-on role, where your responsibilities will initially be working on PPMs, with some reactive requirements, also 80/20 split. Going forwards, we will be moving to where youll have 60% of your time on planned works, 20% on reactive, and 20% on continuous improvement (CI) activities.
Within the role, youll be working on all matters of electrical engineering, and diagnosing faults utilising PLCs (prior experience not required).
We will also be looking to utilise your experience working with a range of equipment to transition that knowledge to the broad and diverse lines we have on site, where we primarily focus on the packaging of our various cheese brands (and retailer-own brands).
Shift pattern: 4-on/4-off days & nights (6.45-7)
Salary: £55,485.36 p/a
YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY
Maintaining multiple lines of automated systems, slicers, scales, bagging, sealers, and packaging equipment.
Optimising line performance to meet and exceed KPIs in the areas of equipment reliability and efficiency.
Ensuring appropriate information on plant performance is captured and recorded.
Completing maintenance activities to drive a predictive approach to tasks and prevent equipment failures.
YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE
An electrically biased multi-skilled engineer with an HNC or HND background.
Able to demonstrate hands-on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery within a production and/or manufacturing environment.
Able to carry out fault-finding with PLCs (nice to have, not a prerequisite).
Able to demonstrate working experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
Experience working within a TPM environment.
Comfortable using CMMS and able to interpret data to increase plant efficiency and identify top loss.
