Job Description



We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Electrical Supervisor to oversee a new build science building project. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in residential projects and a proven track record in supervising construction sites. This role will involve managing subcontractors, placing orders for materials, and liaising with clients to ensure the project runs smoothly and efficiently.



Key Responsibilities




  • Supervise Electrical Work: Oversee the electrical installations ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.

  • Manage Subcontractors: Coordinate and manage the activities of subcontractors, ensuring that they meet the required standards and deadlines.

  • Materials Ordering: Place orders for necessary materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.

  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns or queries they may have.

  • Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SSSTS/SMSTS regulations and other relevant standards.

  • Reporting: Maintain detailed records of work progress, materials used, and any issues encountered, reporting regularly to project managers.

  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process to avoid delays.



Requirements




  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervising construction projects, particularly in the residential sector.

  • Qualifications: Valid SSSTS or SMSTS certification is mandatory. Additional relevant qualifications in electrical work are preferred.

  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple teams and tasks.

  • Commercial Acumen: Must be commercially minded with an understanding of budget management and cost control.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure work is carried out to the highest standard.

  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
